INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS
Aim and Scope:
ICARE stands as an esteemed international peer-reviewed quarterly open access journal, showcasing both print and online versions, with a dedicated focus on disseminating cutting-edge research within Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, Allopathy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Types of Manuscripts Published:
- Original Research Articles: Presenting groundbreaking experimental studies that significantly contribute to advancing knowledge in the field.
- Review Articles: Offering comprehensive analyses and syntheses of existing literature, guiding further research endeavors.
- Book Reviews: Critically evaluating seminal works and publications relevant to the scope of the journal, providing insights for scholarly discourse.
- Short Communications/Research Letters: Offering concise yet impactful presentations of research findings or scholarly insights, fostering rapid dissemination of knowledge.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines:
Manuscripts must be meticulously prepared in English using “MS Word,” adhering to stringent formatting guidelines. The manuscript should maintain a professional appearance with 1-inch margins on all sides, employing “Times New Roman” font with specific font sizes for titles, headings, and subheadings. Authors’ details, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, and manuscript sections must be meticulously structured to ensure clarity and accessibility for readers.
Sequence for Manuscript Submission:
The submission process must adhere to a structured sequence, beginning with the title page, followed by authors’ details and affiliations, abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgment (if applicable), and references. Original research articles should adhere to a specific format, starting with a concise title, followed by detailed author information, abstract, keywords, and structured sections detailing the research methodology, findings, and conclusions.
Abstract and Keywords:
Abstracts should be concise yet informative, offering a succinct overview of the research topic, scope, methodology, significant findings, and conclusions within a limit of 150 to 200 words. Keywords reflecting the core aspects of the research should be meticulously chosen and inserted to facilitate effective indexing and retrieval of the manuscript. Standard nomenclature should be employed, avoiding unnecessary abbreviations and references.
Introduction:
The introduction serves as the beacon, illuminating the trajectory of the work, its objectives, and the noble pursuits of the subject matter. It seamlessly intertwines the legacy of earlier endeavors, establishing a symbiotic relationship with the proposed aims and objectives.
Materials and Methods:
Exacting in its thoroughness, the materials and methods section serves as a meticulous roadmap, ensuring the reproducibility of experiments. Each procedure is expounded in intricate detail, from diagnostic methodologies to the delineation of inclusion and exclusion criteria, all underscored by references to established protocols regarding dosage and route of administration.
Results and Discussion:
The results and discussion section unfurls like a tapestry of discovery, wherein observations of the study find expression through figures or tables where requisite. Anchored in rigorous statistical analysis, as delineated in the methods section, this discourse becomes self-explanatory, a testament to the research’s depth and rigor.
Conclusion:
In the conclusion, the work’s major findings emerge like beacons, casting light on their intrinsic importance, relevance, and utility. This summation encapsulates the essence of the study, offering a succinct yet profound reflection on its implications while delineating avenues for future exploration within the field.
Acknowledgement:
Within the acknowledgment section lies a testament to gratitude and recognition, a singular paragraph that precedes the reference section. Herein lie expressions of appreciation for supporting grants, presentations, and other endeavors that have fortified the research enterprise.
References:
References, meticulously curated in Vancouver style, stand as pillars of scholarly discourse, numbered consecutively and cited with precision within the text. From journals to books and websites, each citation adheres to a stringent format, ensuring seamless integration into the fabric of academic dialogue. Tables, figures, and review articles alike contribute to the scholarly mosaic, enriching the discourse with their insights and analyses.
Tables:
Tables should be meticulously crafted in the standardized MS Word table format, ensuring rows and columns are visible for clarity. Each table should be sequentially numbered in numerals and accompanied by a succinct title in capital letters, seamlessly integrated within the text. To enhance readability, abbreviations within tables must be elucidated as footnotes in italics, providing comprehensive understanding of the data presented.
Figures:
Figures, portraying visual narratives, demand meticulous presentation in JPEG format on distinct pages. Bearing bold-faced titles in lowercase letters, these figures captivate attention while complementing textual discourse. Whether photographs, drawings, diagrams, or charts, each must be numbered in a consecutive series according to their citation in the text, denoted as Fig. 1, Fig. 2, and so forth. It is imperative that each figure’s legend remains concise yet comprehensive, facilitating the reader’s interpretation of the depicted results with ease.
Review Articles:
Review articles, characterized by their systemic scrutiny, serve as discerning appraisals of literature and data sources within specialized fields. Typically solicited from researchers possessing profound expertise, these manuscripts delve into comprehensive discussions regarding the current state of knowledge. They offer critical analyses of diverse opinions and recent developments, enriching scholarly discourse with nuanced perspectives and insightful observations.
Book Reviews:
Book reviews, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, undertake a comprehensive evaluation of scholarly works. Commencing with introductions that underscore author recognition and provide a concise overview of the book’s subject matter, these reviews proceed to analyze specific methodologies and techniques expounded within the text. They navigate through chapter discussions, indices, and practical aspects, culminating in a discerning examination of the text’s merits and demerits, encapsulated within a cogent conclusion.
Short Communication/Research Letter:
In instances where original research ventures fall short of meeting the criteria for a full-length research paper, authors are encouraged to consider submitting their work as a short communication or research letter.
For Short Communication:
Authors are directed to prepare their manuscripts meticulously, adhering to the guidelines delineated for the Research Paper category.
For Research Letter:
Similarly, manuscripts intended as research letters should be crafted in accordance with the parameters outlined for the Research Paper category, sans any subheadings.
Case Studies:
Case studies, offering insights into clinical scenarios featuring unique disease presentations or unreported adverse drug reactions, constitute a valuable contribution to scholarly discourse. Authors must ensure that informed consent has been obtained from the patient described in the case report prior to submission. The case report should encompass an unstructured abstract, keywords, introduction, detailed case description, brief discussion, conclusion, and relevant references.
Letter to the Editor/Correspondence:
Letters to the Editor, serving as platforms for commentary on previously published articles in ICARE or brief reports of preliminary data, are welcomed if they offer novel insights. Each letter must be accompanied by a title to facilitate its dissemination and scholarly engagement.
Plagiarism:
ICARE maintains a staunch commitment to combating plagiarism, affording authors the opportunity to rectify any instances of significant similarity detected in their work. Should the similarity surpass 10%, authors are requested to revise their manuscript accordingly. A dedicated plagiarism redressal process is in place, wherein violations may be reported for investigation in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Online Submission:
Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts through the online submission portal or via email to the Chief Editor. Each submission receives a unique manuscript reference number for correspondence purposes.
Manuscript Review Process:
The ICARE employs a rigorous double-blind peer review policy. Following initial assessment by the Chief Editor, manuscripts undergo thorough evaluation by the Editorial team and assigned reviewers. Criteria include subject content, relevance, language, and plagiarism. Authors are provided with reviewer feedback for necessary revisions within three weeks of submission, with subsequent reviews conducted as needed.
Copyright:
Submission to the journal implies that manuscripts are original and not concurrently under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and authors acknowledge the Chief Editor’s authority to take appropriate action in cases of plagiarism or fabrication. Corresponding authors are required to sign a Copyright Agreement and Authorship Responsibility Form upon acceptance, attesting to the originality and integrity of the work.
Gallery Proofs:
Upon completion of the editorial process, page proofs and correction format are dispatched to the corresponding author via email. It is incumbent upon the corresponding author to diligently review and return the galley proofs within 7 days of receipt. Should any amendments be deemed necessary, authors are encouraged to utilize the provided correction format. Alternatively, authors may signify their approval for publication by promptly responding with a confirmation (designated as “NO correction”), thereby granting consent for the manuscript’s dissemination on the journal’s website.

All personal information, including names, email addresses, and phone numbers, provided on this journal site, is exclusively utilized for the intended purposes of the journal and shall not be disclosed or made available to any other party for any other purpose.

While there are no charges for article submission and review processing, authors are required to remit the below-mentioned fees only after provisional acceptance.
For Authors in India:
– Online Publication: Rs. /- per article.
– Print Publication: Rs. /- per article, inclusive of one printed copy. Additional copies may be obtained at Rs. /- each within India.
– An additional charge of Rs. is applicable for articles exceeding words or featuring more than 4 authors.
For Foreign Authors:
– Online Publication: $ USD per article.
– Print Publication: $ USD per article, inclusive of one printed copy. Additional copies may be obtained at $ USD each.
Waiver Policy:
